Our quilters produce children’s quilts which are donated to children in the foster care system through the Children’s Network of SWFL. We are affiliated with the SWFL Chapter of Quilts for Kids, Inc.
A variety of sewn items are created by our sewing group as requested by nonprofits, such as: ladies' tote bags, kids’ backpacks, baby items, stuffed animals, surgical hats, flannel hearts for the NICU, receiving blankets, post-surgical pillows, adult dignity bibs and busy blankets for memory care residents.
Our yarn arts group brings warmth and love to a number of local organizations, including animal lovies for older children at Golisano Children’s Hospital; baby blankets for impoverished babies through Tiny Showers; chemo caps, shawls and lapghans for patients receiving treatments at The Regional Cancer Center; and
rabbit nests for injured rabbits at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
Receiving a knotted fleece blanket is like getting a "warm hug". These blankets are two pieces of fleece held together by knots around the edges. The same technique is used for pillows. The children at Valerie's House love Sew & Sews' blankets. Blankets are also given as Christmas gifts to mothers through Verandah's Visions of Sugar Plums

Every month, Sew & Sews members create beautiful handmade items that are distributed throughout our local community.
